Russ and Nancy Wright share a number of things including over 20 years of marriage, a cat and an obsession for bike racing. The bike riding, photography and two full time day jobs keep us pretty busy. Most people wonder how we came up with the name AbbiOrca (pronounced Abby Orca). It's not the easiest name to remember or spell (abbyorca just didn't look right to us) but it keeps us amused and that's all that matters ;-).We had a beautiful black cat named Abby and a friend of ours has a big lovable cat named Orca. There you go. The secret is out. So, what do we do, you might wonder? OK, perhaps you don't wonder and just were curious what that "About Us" button did. We provide a number of photographic services. The most obvious is that we cover lots of bike racing events. Cyclo-Cross is our photographic obsession and have covered the last three world championships along with lots of local and national races. Unlike most event photography businesses, we do not attempt to cover every single rider.We find that when we do that the quality of our work suffers. Even so, we do tend to get photos of a large percentage of the participants. So part of our business is selling photos (both in digital and print form) to the riders. We also sell our photos to other people connected to the sport for various purposes including advertising and editorial.
